Abstract

Incoterms 2010 are a convenient tool to work easily with international sales contracts. Documentary Credit is a payment method for the goods to be purchased as well as a tool of seller’s protection against buyer's non-payment. It may seem that these instruments have no direct relationship and parties to the contract are always free to choose any of the 11 Incoterms in payments by documentary credits. In this article, the author tries to find out how true this statement is.
