Abstract

In the article, the author considers current trends in offshore business, i.e. the transfer of legal entities to low-tax countries and territories, and characterizes development trends of the companies in developed countries and Russia. The reasons and factors of emergence and development of offshore operations, and the main directions of this activity are considered. Methods of combating offshore activities in Russia and other countries are revealed. The author outlines the importance of improving tax climate in the companies’ home countries as the main factor of economic encouragement for companies to return from offshore jurisdictions.
