Prospects for international soft ware market as a result of WTO accession

Abstract

With the accession to the WTO on August 22, 2012 Russia received a number of certain advantages, but at the same time there is also a negative side of this step, which will undoubtedly affect the software market. The pros and cons of the Agreement on information technology ITA are being discussed in Russia, the signing of which will reduce the trade barriers on the import of information technology products. This article considers the current and potential positive and negative consequences of the Russia’s accession to the WTO for the software market and the possible results of the signing of the ITA.
