Abstract

Russian production of base refined non-ferrous metals, primarily aluminium, nickel, copper and zinc, for reasons such as limited domestic consumption and foreign markets saturation has almost reached its limits. The future of the whole industry will depend on further development of mineral resource base and the growth in output of metals, market share of which is currently not so large, but demonstrates high growth rates, for example in tin industry. Such changes in the domestic non-ferrous metallurgy thanks to greater diversification of production will help to create new export flows in the Russian economy and will maintain its export revenues.
