Abstract

In the 21st century, the production and consumption of clean fuels are gaining relevance and significance. This not only due to concern of the world community about the impact of environmental pollution on human health, but has also to do with the problems of employment and growth of rural incomes. As to BRICS both of these factors are important considering their role in the growth processes of carbon emissions, as well as their growing population and the problem of unemployment in the agricultural sector. Therefore, all the BRICS countries implement programs for the development of biofuel production in their countries. Russia has serious potential for the production and marketing of biofuels on the external market. Thus, it is interesting to consider its cooperation with BRICS countries in this area.
