Аннотация

The article contains the analysis of the important economic decisions approved at the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations, which resulted in the establishment of the WTO, and later. While the majority of the decisions improve the existing agreements for the WTO members, especially the General Agreement on Trade in Services, some of the other decisions have laid the foundations for new Agreements, for instance, concerning interdependence of international trade and environment. In the concluding part of the article the decisions adopted at the Ninth Ministerial Conference in December 2013 are analyzed. Besides the author makes conclusions, which could be useful for business, professional unions and governmental organizations of Russia seeking to increase the effectiveness of the participation of Russia in the WTO, taking into account the decision-making procedures and the orientation of the decisions to be adopted.
