Abstract

The article examines the modern role of the government, economic policy and activities of the state corporation «Roscosmos» in the space industry. Current state of the private sector of the space industry in Russia is considered. The key state program aimed at the development and support of the industry is analyzed. Successful examples of the implementation of projects by private companies in the field of space aircraft construction in the United States of America and the current experience of the formation of the private sector in Russia are demonstrated. Based on the study the most promising areas for the development of the Russian private sector of the space industry in Russia are proposed.
